Red Hat Linux, like any operating system, is not not perfect. However, because nearly all of the programs included on the main distribution come with source code, it is also audited very regularly. Problems, when found, can be seen rapidly and are usually fixed in record time.
When such problems are found, Red Hat Inc. will issue a fixed package and make it available for download.
Problem:
Since Linux and other operating systems are being audited at all times for security problems, there have already been announcements and fixes for a number of security problems associated with some of the programs we shipped.
Fix:
All updated packages concerning security fixes can be found at the security section of our Errata site.
On each errata page, detailed instructions on installing the updated package are included.
